We have already discussed some of the benefits that location based networks, such as Foursquare, offers to businesses-and the list just got longer.
There is over a thousand of different brands that are on Foursquare, but often times are hard to discover by the users. So, in order to diffuse this issue they have launched a "page gallery". This gallery complies a collection of all the businesses on the site and gives the users the option to "follow" the page. By following the page users are able to receive tips, and updates from their favorite brands. The gallery also shows users what pages are popular amongst their friends.
With so many people and businesses jumping on the Foursquare bandwagon I think the Pages concept is a great idea. In order to stay relevant these networks need to keep evolving to fit what the consumer is wanting.

I love how social marketing continues to expand with innovation. How genius is the idea of being able to check into a store and receive a discount straight to your mobile devise! By doing this, a store can gained constant data on how is entering and purchasing in their store. Also, you can use these mobile users for test promotions. I hope that this trend catches on!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree that sites need to continue to evolve to what their users and consumers want and need. That is the joy of social media! They have employees that are user conscientious. They want to help users get the best experience possible from their site. If only consumer companies had the same customer satisfaction mentality.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion this is going to drastically increase the use of Four Square in the next few months! I would be more willing to use it now. Not only can consumers follow certain companies but now companies can gain customer profile information! This makes searching for businesses much more convenient and we all know the more convenient, the better. What I love about social media is how it constantly evolves, but it has to!
